The All-In-One Business Platform that is Essential to my Business

Building an online business can turn into a headfuck very quickly when you’re considering all of the different elements, #allthethings that you need to do and then finding the best services to fulfill all those different functionalities. I’m talking - email list, payment portal, course creation, lead pages… the list goes on. Let alone remembering where you saved all those log-in details, figuring out how to get all your services to link to each other AND trying not to have a meltdown when looking at your business expenses at the end of the month across all these services you’ve enlisted.

Slayers, the BIGGEST contributor to my massive success has been my ability to put all my energy into my ZOG (Zone of Genius) and SIMPLIFY the fuck out of my business. 

That includes all of my backend systems and hosting platforms!

One of the great things about building a business online in 2020 is that we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to picking and choosing the services and solutions which will help us elevate and grow our biz to the next level. As great as having all those options are, it can also be a royal pain in the ass if you’re anything like me - who has a meltdown over the pressure of ordering UberEats or choosing which Netflix film to watch, let alone sifting through endless options when it comes to business solutions. 

Today, I want to share some of the pitfalls and things to look out for when choosing what portal to run your business through, and what elements have been non-negotiable when it comes to running mine. I’m also going to share a solution that’s been a total fucking GAMECHANGER and godsend when it comes to running, growing and streamlining my business, because I’ve #beenthere, #donethat, #boughttheTshirt.

When it comes to plug ins and functions, you might not even know what to look out for or what you might need! Here’s some of the things that have been critical for me in my hunt for the perfect business solution - and some of these are things that you might not have even considered! But I got you, boo!

Must Haves & Non-Negotiables 

Email List

Growing and nurturing your email list is pretty much an imperative if you want to sell like hotcakes. You need to be able to funnel your leads into your email list so you can turn them into warm leads that buy your shit. Finding a platform that offers easy, streamlined email marketing is a non-negotiable! 

Simple Website Design

As an entrepreneur you’ll have to wear many hats, and a web designer is likely to be one of them. Because most of us are not pros at web design - or completely computer illiterate, *guilty* - and are not at the point we can outsource this just yet, it’s important to find a service that offers simple website design so you don’t tear all your hair out trying to put together a basic landing page or spend weeks on end trying to learn code. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

House Digital Products

If you want to scale your business, you need to be offering digital products and lower cost offers alongside the courses you’re launching, that you can offer all-year-long. When I’m talking about digital products, I’m talking about guides, webinars, ebooks, etc. Digital products are going to be the bread-and-butter of your residual income outside of a launch. You don’t necessarily need this platform to give you tools to create these products, but just a place to offer, sell and deliver them easily.

Client Payment Collection

Girls gotta get paid! This one is a non-negotiable. A complicated and intricate payment portal is going to confuse the F out of your customers and leave them abandoning cart before they buy the goods. Choose a platform that is streamlined and simple and that has the functionality to link up to your chosen payment portal (whether that be Stripe, Paypal etc) so payments go straight through to your account in one easy click. 

Run An Affiliate Program

Affiliate programs are another great way to make residual income and it’s something which has helped me hit the million dollar mark in my business. This might not be one you’re considering as a must-have, but for me having my affiliate’s taken care of without needing an additional service has been a life saver.

Automating Sales Funnels

Automation is going to be THE thing that allows you to scale like wildfire and make money on rinse and repeat while you’re in the salon getting your nails did, #goals. The best service will allow you to upsell, prompt when a cart has been abandoned, send automated emails depending on where your lead is in the process, and have the capability to track analytics every step of the way (so you know where you’re losing peeps).

Creating and Selling Programs and Courses

As a coach or a wellness professional, the product that you are generally selling is online courses and programs. So at some point you’re going to need to invest in a service that allows you to create, host and share your courses. And preferably one that streamlines and automates the delivery of your units, logins and updates to save yourself time, hassle and hurling your laptop at a wall in frustration. 

We’re spoilt for choice when it comes to websites that provide all of the above services, so there’s many things to take into consideration when you’re choosing. 

The deciding factor for me was finding somewhere that does it ALL vs. enlisting multiple services to cover all my bases. 


 

All-In-One V.S. Build it Yourself

I’m going to be real with you, slayers… the build it yourself model can get suuuuper exxy when you start adding on all of the plug ins that you need - because you need your LeadPages to talk to your Mail Chimp, which connects to your Stripe account… and so on. 

This all comes at a price which adds up and gives you a serious headspin when you’re looking at your business expenses at the end of the month. 

Not to mention - multiple logins, headaches and connection failures. 

Many services (Kajabi, Podia, Kantra, etc) offer an all-in-one platform that rolls everything you could possibly think of needing into one neat solution. At first glance you might be intimidated by a platform like this because you don’t think you’ll need all those functions, but my advice is to think long game when you’re weighing up the two options! 

We’re looking at building sustainable solutions that can grow with your biz. It’s not ideal to have to move all your shit over to a different platform eventually because it doesn’t offer the functionality you need, or because adding on all the plug-ins you need eventually becomes more expensive than investing in the all-in-one from the get go.

My Obsession

I need to be real with you, my business was a total shitshow until I enlisted the help of Kajabi. Kajabi saved my fucking life. No joke. I am so unbelievably grateful for this platform and what it’s been able to do for my business, let alone the incredible support I’ve gotten from them.

I’m such a huge advocate for this solution I was even sponsored by Kajabi for my last Summit of Slay event - and I’m going to tell anyone who will listen that these guys are the #tits. 

Before Kajabi, I was pouring through free trial after free trial trying to find solutions, tearing my fucking hair out and panicking every time I had to pay $200 a month for yet another service. 

Slayers, I don’t have these problems anymore, and neither do most of my clients - almost all of my clients use Kajabi because we’re so obsessed with it, and rightfully so. Kajabi is a big fucking deal and I’m going to sing their praises until I’m purple in the face.
