How to Deal with Haters: Use Them to Make Money
I’ve been in the entrepreneurial space a while now and I gotta comment on something I’ve been seeing happening, even with high level entrepreneurs. Some of you bitches are still holding yourself back from fully expressing your truth. That’s right, #CallOut.
And why? Because you’re afraid. ( I can teach you how to get over that shit at The Summit of Slay Tickets on sale now www.summitofslay.com)
Someone who’s following you might judge you… and so you’re watering down your shit. That someone might be a friend, someone you see as a ‘competitor’, or even a family member.
Whoever it is, who gives an actual fuck, that’s not the point.
The point is you’re watering down your content because you don’t know how to deal with haters. And so… You’re leaving money on the table, you don’t have the type of clients you want, you’re not being you, and someone who needs you isn’t being uplifted by you.
And guess what? The riches are in making your haters even more mad.
Lemme explain.
I used to be in the exact same position because I started my online business and started posting selfies online. My intention was to build my brand and make money, right? But instead, some of my old high school friends made comments like “Why don’t you just post another selfie, get thirty likes, and feel good about yourself…”
And that shit stuck.
It held me back from fully expressing. From posting selfies. From being me online.
I got scared because I didn’t want to be seen as full of myself. Truth though… Am I actually full of myself? Nah, bitch. And neither are you.
You know yourself, you know your mission, and you know what you’re here to say. You can’t let anyone hold you back from that shit.
Especially the trolls. So let’s talk about how to deal with haters and turn them into dolla bills in the bank.
HOW TO MONETIZE THE CLAPBACK FROM YOUR HATERS
I want you to intentionally piss off the people who aren’t your people every. Single. Day.
Seriously, I even want you to tag me in it. I wanna see the posts where you piss the people off who you’ve been watering yourself down for. Here’s what I mean.
1. Boost Your Shit in the Algorithm by Causing a Debate (#ThanksBitches)
Trolls post troll-ey things. They leave comments on your shit that start straight up debates. And you might be triggered because you’re like, “Oh my god someone doesn’t like meeee…”
But guess what’s gonna happen?
YOUR people will come to the rescue. They’ll join the conversation.
And then guess what happens?
All of a sudden your post has hundreds of comments because engagement is through the fucking roof. And now you’re being seen everywhere, not just on a few of your regular’s feeds.
This means the people who actually need to see your message are gonna see it because it’s going to get way more exposure.
When it comes to how to deal with haters, remember boo, they’re gonna help make you famous.
They’re gonna help bump your Facebook and Instagram posts to the top of the feed for the world to see. But what YOU gotta do first is actually share your opinion and stop trying to please the masses.
#ThankYouNext…
2. Only Speak to the People Who Need YOU
I was recently talking to a client who is having a $25k cash month and a $50k launch. To meet her goals, she only needs ten clients to come into her high-level, high-ticket program.
While we were strategizing I reminded her:
“You’re only speaking to those ten people. You’re not creating this content for anyone else because this offer isn’t for anyone else. ONLY speak to your target audience, who this is for.”
Same goes for you, bae. Ask yourself:
Who am I creating this for?
How can I inspire the fuck out of them?
Then be unfiltered and intentional about sharing that message. You won’t even have to time to worry about how to deal with haters because you’ll be making so much money.
3. Brag Bitch, Brag (Because It’s Actually Not Bragging) #OwnIt
I hear you, you feel like you’re bragging when you create this kinda content. But lemme remind you of something.
If someone is triggered by what you say and feels like it’s arrogant vs confident… that’s a reflection of them and has nothing to do with you. You cannot control how other humans feel about themselves.
And that’s not your fucking responsibility. No one can make you, and you can’t make anyone, feel a certain way.
For example, I remember when I was posting about going into my business full time and how happy I was to stay home with my babies. I had a former ‘friend’ say “You’re making working moms everywhere feel bad about themselves.”
Wait, what?
I’m sure this kinda shit sounds familiar. And it made me momentarily shrink… I took responsibility for her insecurities.
But now I know the truth, and I’m sharing it with you, slayer. That person felt mom guilt and projected that shit onto me because I triggered her. But that wasn’t my fault. I had absolutely zero control over her reaction to what I had to say. That was on her.
When it comes to how to deal with haters, you have to remember it’s not you… it’s them. And think about the alternative…
If you’re not sharing your wins because you’re scared of being judged, you’re not giving the people who need you hope. There is someone out there DYING to see someone else doing what they wanna do. And that person could be you.
You need to be brave enough to celebrate your wins so you can be an example of what’s possible. If you’re ready to get started with your unapologetic message, you can share that message with the world with my new mugs here! Let them know you are thankful for them!
I love you!
